What Do You Want Out of Life?

I was on a course last week and this question was asked of us by the facilitator: What do you want?
A simple question, but so many people struggle with this. I wonder if you struggle with it too.
He kept repeating that deep down you really know what you want but maybe too afraid to say it.
Why?
I looked inward for answers. Why does this feel so hard?
What is it that is holding me back from answering fully?
What I uncovered was not pretty.
There was a stinking pile of "what if's" sitting there.
Right next to the whiff of "who do you think you are to ask for..."
I know my 'why', I know my purpose in life. And I live it and love what I do.
But to break through to the next level means stating with certainty what I really want.
It starts a chain reaction.
You see, stating out loud what we really want means bumping into some harsh realities.
The old programming that lingers from when we were young.
It is so deeply ingrained and steers our thoughts and actions. Unless questioned. Challenged. Understanding what is truth rather than focusing on reality; the evidence we see around us.
I didn't really understand the difference between truth and reality until this course. I wonder if you do?
You see there are Universal Laws that operate and I hadn't fully understood one of them.
These are laws we are rarely taught.
Oh yes, like you I learned about the Law of Gravity in Physics at school, Pareto's Law, the 80:20 Rule, the Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy, and many others.
But the one law that really made a difference to my understanding?
The Law of Polarity.
The Law of Polarity states that everything has its opposite and its equal and opposite - right/left, up/down, positive/negative. The opposite must exist in the same space.
Yeah, yeah, we all know that! I hear you.
But understand this.
If something pops in your mind as a desire, something you would really like, it already exists and is available to you. It has to be. By Law.
Now if you want a cream cake right now, of course you know it already exists and is available to you. You just need to go to the right shop and purchase it. Maybe there is one in the fridge nearby.
But the same thing applies to big juicy desires. What you want. Even large amounts of money.
It already exists in your space, you just have to take an action to find it.
And it will often appear as an opportunity disguised as defeat or something you don't want.
I wonder if you can relate.
One of the most profound examples of this for me was when my main client broke an agreement to pay commission for a large contract I brought to his business. This soured the relationship and the work dried up as a result for both his and my business.
It left my business on its knees.
I was determined not to give up, and phoned round the people I had met that hadn't become customers of my client.
Early on, just one conversation led to a multiple six figure contract for that year.
That was just the start.
The revenue for my business quintupled within three years. That's five times what I had previously made.
How does that happen?
The Law of Polarity.
But here I am again.
Thinking about what I want and feeling almost shy and bashful about saying it out loud.
That stinking pile of "what if's" is sitting there.
Right next to the whiff of "who do you think you are to ask for..."
I think I'll ignore them and focus on the truth.
I am worthy.
And so are you.
